We mutually agree for John L. Jifon to deliver the following during the period of July 1, 2006, to June 30, 2007, using funds from the Rio Grande Basin Initiative:
- Complete research quantifying water savings and water-use efficiency of muskmelon (cantaloupe) under regulated deficit irrigation.
- Complete studies characterizing the effects of drip tape placement, emitter spacing and irrigation timing on yield and water-use efficiency of drip-irrigated sweet onions.
- Establish experiments to compare two strategies for increasing on-farm water-use efficiency: (1) regulated deficit irrigation, and (2) partial root zone drying, and their effects on the physiology, growth, yield and quality of sweet peppers.
- Prepare and submit manuscripts based on research items (1) and (2).
