- Characterize net Na and Cl uptake, translocation and allocation over the phenology of these crops.
- Identify Na and Cl tolerance limits of these crops under irrigation with salinized water, and the extent to which they affect growth, quality (aesthetic value) and water use (ET and plant water relations).
- Identify cultivars and/or plant genetic lineages that are tolerant to irrigation with saline waters.
